Literacy needed: “Infolost” on what “Protection of Names” in U.S. law really means

Another weird and mis-construed moment of Facebook “news” links that rolled into my news feed once again!: http://www.infowars.com/house-bill-would-criminalize-satire-of-tsa/ .  (Sorry Ryan, but this link has to be seen!)

Really? We have to go there don’t we? ok, ok… I guess we here at The American Beacon will explain all this using  good ole common sense dictation and interpretation on what exactly this paragraph means just so A.J. and his fan base can know this is not some Buildaburger trilateral commission sneak-in plot to take away our freedom’s of expression or speech! God forbid anyone get all worried and grab some MRE  packets as they head off to the caves and bunkers screaming : RUN,RUN, HURRY!! THE END IS HERE,THE END IS HERE!

Not that we think the T.S.A. is the best thing ever.. FAR FROM IT!

We actually have been very critical of them….but here goes:

‘Whoever, except with the written permission of the Assistant Secretary for Transportation Security (or the Director of the Federal Air Marshal Service for issues involving the Federal Air Marshal Service), knowingly uses the words ‘Transportation Security Administration’, ‘United States Transportation Security Administration’, ‘Federal Air Marshal Service’, ‘United States Federal Air Marshal Service’, ‘Federal Air Marshals’, the initials ‘T.S.A.’, ‘F.A.M.S.’, ‘F.A.M.’, or any colorable imitation of such words or initials, or the likeness of a Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service badge, logo, or insignia on any item of apparel, in connection with any advertisement, circular, book, pamphlet, software, or other publication, or with any play, motion picture, broadcast, telecast, or other production, in a matter that is reasonably calculated to convey the impression that the wearer of the item of apparel is acting pursuant to the legal authority of the Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service, or to convey the impression that such advertisement, circular, book, pamphlet, software, or other publication, or such play, motion picture, broadcast, telecast, or other production, is approved, endorsed, or authorized by the Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service;’.  H.R. 3011: Transportation Security Administration Authorization Act of 2011   

O.K. kiddies, let Uncle Bill and friends break all this down real quick for all the lil’ info warlord fan’s out there!

You know, The Dazed and Confused so to speak..  So, Shall we begin?

If you was to own a company.. or better yet, A prime example, World Wildlife Federation which is commonly known as it’s abbreviations..WWF.

Now, back several years ago they filed a lawsuit against another company, Which was called World Wrestling Federation-WWF which you may know now as World Wrestling Entertainment aka WWE. They claimed that Vince McMahon’s company,World Wrestling Federation and it’s usage of the abbreviation WWF  (now WWE) caused them financial harm, confusion and misrepresented their (World Wildlife Federation) companies namesake, Therefore causing them to lose donations and harm their company funding because they were a wildlife preservation organization, not a Wrestling company.

After years of back and forth in the courtroom, World Wildlife Federation proved that they had the name and the initials first (according to them), WWE finally gave in and changed the logo’s, abbreviations, even the name of the company itself.

You know those shows and movies you watch on T.V., You know shows like CSI, X-Files, NYPD etc…When you see FBI logo’s or CIA logo’s or NYPD on the car’s, their jackets and even the” flash of the badge” scenes….Here’s a quick tip: They have to actually get permission for that, especially if it looks real or resembles a likeness thereof, meaning if it looks real they better know about it!

Maybe fake $100 bills is O.K., I mean hell, somebody I suppose made them just to show off their artistic skills or was it for their freedom of spending and printing fake money??

Err…Wait, That’s not necessarily a Right is it? I’ll check my pocket Constitution again…

I mean seriously..If you think forgery and fake cops pulling people over is cool and stuff..then I guess you would think it offends their rights of freedom of expression while they are possibly robbing you and their “God Given” right to speech when they offend you by making you look dumb, I suppose…

Also, Maybe you like identity theft too… think about it! I could go on and on but by now you should get the picture…..
